Separated after the divorce of their parents -- gruff newspaperman Jeff Turner (Preston Foster) and jet-set intellect Mary Hale (Gail Patrick) -- the girls have been raised under vastly different rules. Reunited as teens, with each envying the other's lifestyle, the girls swap identities for a chance to walk in each other's shoes. With their new identities come new adventures and disasters. Stephanie (as Terry) enters the National Knowledge Contest in a bid to reunite their parents.
